Their dedication often goes unnoticed, and many face increasing challenges without financial support or formal recognition. Since January, requests for assistance from local services have doubled, reflecting the growing need for help. To respond to this, we are hosting our annual charity party, and we invite you to join us for an enjoyable event that makes a real difference.

This year, we decided to keep things simple and welcoming by organising a family-friendly gathering at the British Legion in Lower Gornal. It’s a chance to have fun, connect with others, and support a local charity that consistently steps up to help unpaid carers, even without government funding.

Unpaid carers play a vital role in our community by providing care that would otherwise require costly professional services. They help with daily tasks, medical appointments, emotional support, and much more. Despite their importance, many carers face financial strain, social isolation, and emotional stress.

Since the start of the year, the number of requests for help from carers and related services in our borough has doubled. This increase shows how much more support is needed. Our charity has responded to every request, but we rely entirely on donations and community support to keep going.

over 50 respite days that gave carers a chance to relax and recharge. We also provided one-on-one support to more than 100 carers facing difficult situations.
